Just like the University “Bait-us-Salam” is playing a major part in students’ mental training and religious and contemporary education, in the same way its goal is also to disseminate useful and necessary information about the religion of Islam in an easy and interesting way to gain maximum and effective use of media.
In this regard the services of the University are as follows:
On the 29th Ramadan 2010 a monthly magazine was launched called “Fahm-Deen” (In the name of religion). This magazine is just 44 pages, but has topics covered on all walks of life and includes six covers. In these there is the purification of self which is named ‘Corrective Parts’, situation awareness and religious & intellectual articles. There is also “Essays” for legal and medical issues, “Women in Islam” for domestic situations and mother in law problems etc., ‘Magazine for Children ‘for moral education of children, ”Bazm-e-Adab” for reform of poems and ethical literature and “Guldasta Series” for interesting knowledge points, literary topics and hilarious jokes.
Arabic quarterly magazine Majla-ul-Islam
In the last few years the interest in the Arabic language in schools in Pakistan is reaching an all-time high and the need for an Arabic magazine for the Arabic religious class champions is becoming prominent. Through this magazine they are trained mentally as well as learn about the quality of different genres of Arabic literature. In order to fill this gap, in Shaban 1433 AH a magazine called “Majla-ul-Islam” was first issued. On the first issue of the magazine (which had a beautiful, title, colored pages, and adorned with knowledgeable Holy content) many personalities in the intellectual and literary circles expressed their encouraging feedback.
Volume 1’-‘The Student Voice”& “Deen-o-Danish”
The University’s Broadcasting Department, along with providing great educational and religious knowledge, is also responsible for readying such students who are aware of the requirements of the society and the challenges that the Ulema face. These people should be able to spread the religion of truth in a simple and easy way. Therefore, the students of the University issue a monthly magazine called “The Student Voice” in English, “Saut-ul-Islam” in Arabic and “Deen-o-Danish” in Urdu. These magazines are displayed separately and are read and enjoyed not only by students but also the guests who come to visit the University.
The way the power of the pen cannot be denied in spreading religion through print media, in the same way the power of the tongue and its correct and timely use is as important in a mosque to disseminate the truthfulness of Islam through electronic media. Therefore for this purpose, student opinion week is held weekly in which students express their views in all the three languages (Urdu, English and Arabic).
